The Assistant Director of Athletic Business Operations at Georgia Southern University plays a crucial role in providing fiscal support to various sports and administrative units within the athletics department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing budget management for assigned areas, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures, and enhancing the overall success of the athletics program. In this role, the Assistant Director will serve as the primary liaison between the business office and assigned sports and administrative departments. Key responsibilities include managing and processing expense transactions, coordinating team and recruiting travel, and fulfilling responsibilities as a departmental purchasing card holder. The position also involves assisting with the hiring processes for Graduate Assistants and temporary employees, performing various accounting functions, and utilizing strong relational and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with coaches, sports administrators, executive staff, and campus constituents. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and have one to three years of related experience, preferably in a Division I Athletics Business Office. A strong understanding of applicable NCAA rules and regulations, along with experience in financial account reconciliation and variance analysis, is highly desirable. The Assistant Director will be expected to consistently exhibit engaging customer service and support various constituencies served by the University, all while adhering to institutional goals and supporting the University's mission for student success.
