About the position
The Assistant Director of the Child Care Center at The Goddard School in St. Augustine, FL, is responsible for overseeing preschool operations, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and fostering a nurturing environment for young children. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a solid understanding of age-appropriate educational practices. The Assistant Director will work closely with families and staff to maintain high standards of care and education.
Responsibilities
- Oversee lesson plans and age-appropriate learning in every classroom.
- Develop strong relationships with families.
- Comply with state childcare licensing regulations.
- Maintain and acquire desired accreditations.
- Review lesson plans and daily activity reports.
- Oversee preschool operations including human resources, quality assurance, and facility operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool.
- Director Credentials.
- Minimum of 5 years of previous experience in an accredited childcare program.
- Knowledge and experience with childcare licensing, curriculum, QA checks, and medication management.
