About the position

The Assistant Director of Digital Strategy and Marketing at the University of the Incarnate Word is responsible for leading digital marketing initiatives aimed at recruiting prospective students. This role combines creativity and strategic thinking to develop and execute marketing strategies across various digital platforms, including social media, email, and web content. The position involves managing a team, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and utilizing data-driven approaches to enhance enrollment efforts. The role is eligible for remote work after a successful six-month evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain brand elements for marketing pieces, internal documents, printed content, websites, social media, emails, online ads, and landing pages.
  • Oversee targeted audiences through paid campaigns using available tools on lead generation sites, aggregators, and other digital platforms.
  • Implement designated digital strategies through established interdepartmental and external partnerships to meet enrollment objectives.
  • Conceptualize and support effective paid search engine marketing campaigns through Google Ads and other SEM tools with graphics and ad copy in cooperation with other team members.
  • Write and manage the creation of promotional messaging, blogs, graphics, print, video, and other content elements to support consistent marketing and enrollment strategies and messages on all platforms.
  • Update content, graphics, and multimedia on university websites, landing pages, mobile, text messages, video, and partner sites to grow user interaction and application conversions.
  • Develop user-generated content strategies and a content repository to use in marketing efforts.
  • Enhance and direct search engine optimization through site content development, page setup, link strategies, and other SEO tactics.
  • Collaborate with university web team on web functionality and content strategies with an enrollment focus and excellent user experience (UX) practices.
  • Support website updates that reflect university programs and improve SEM, SEO rankings, and social media interactions.
  • Oversee the feature implementation and maintenance of the chatbot tool on the website for all appropriate audiences.
  • Research, recommend, and assist with implementation of tools and features to drive interaction on all devices.
  • Collaborate with university departments and outside vendors to execute digital marketing strategies and meet overall enrollment management goals.
  • Work in conjunction with senior management to develop and guide strategic marketing enrollment plans.
  • Review, analyze, and report on marketing, social, and advertising results including proprietary tools and site analytics to show ROI and strategic goal effectiveness of various lead generation efforts.
  • Direct social media strategy utilizing an array of appropriate sites and tools to enhance UIW visibility and drive traffic to the UIW websites.
  • Supervise and mentor team members, work study students, and graduate assistant(s).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field.
  • Four (4) years of marketing experience, including three (3) years of digital marketing experience.
  • Two (2) years of leadership or supervisory responsibilities of professional level staff.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite 6 including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Strong skills in writing and editing marketing copy with adherence to a style guide.
  • Strong proficiency in Content Management Systems (CMS) with functional HTML skills.
  • Strong skills in email and texting campaign development.
  • Proficiency in data collection, evaluation, and reporting of web applications to attribute effectiveness across all digital marketing channels.
