About the position

The Assistant Director of Enrollment Marketing and Communications at John Carroll University plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation, management, and evaluation of communication strategies aimed at enhancing undergraduate enrollment. This position involves creating and managing various communication materials across multiple platforms, including print, email, SMS, and web content, to effectively engage potential undergraduate students and other stakeholders throughout the recruitment process. The role also includes project management responsibilities to ensure alignment with the university's enrollment objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute a comprehensive enrollment communication plan across various media.
  • Serve as lead copywriter for enrollment communications, ensuring adherence to editorial standards and branding guidelines.
  • Conceptualize and author original copy to effectively communicate John Carroll University's story.
  • Plan and author messages for non-student constituents, including parents, counselors, and community organizations.
  • Review all enrollment marketing collateral for accuracy and consistency in messaging.
  • Utilize Technolutions Slate CRM for email/SMS message setup and management.
  • Assist with the maintenance of Slate landing pages and portals.
  • Oversee and optimize undergraduate admission web pages.
  • Act as liaison between Enrollment Marketing and Integrated Marketing & Communications teams.
  • Manage communications with key admission vendors and analyze data for effectiveness of communication efforts.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive communication sequence document and project management databases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English or related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience with a track record of achieving project goals.
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to serve as technical lead on communication projects.
  • Understanding of project management systems, with Basecamp experience being a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Master's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Prior experience in a higher education environment.
  • Knowledge of Technolutions Slate CRM.
