About the position

The Assistant Director of Finance at The Belgrove is responsible for providing daily operational support to the Director of Finance and collaborating with key hotel managers. This role involves maintaining accounting standards, analyzing financial data, assisting in budgeting processes, and managing cash flow through effective oversight of Income Audit, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable. The position is crucial for ensuring financial health and operational efficiency within the hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with and/or prepares reports summarizing, forecasting, and analyzing hotel business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings.
  • Maintains working knowledge of night audit, income audit, general cashier, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Prepares month-end entries to the general ledger and posts them after approval by the Director of Finance.
  • Assists in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepares end-of-month reports as directed by the Director of Finance.
  • Assists with any other accounting office tasks as instructed by the Director of Finance.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Promotes the hotel through goodwill, courtesy, and a positive attitude.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance desired.
  • Five+ years of experience in hospitality/full-service hotel Accounting Department.
  • Computer expertise in Microsoft Excel and hotel Point of Sales and Property Management Systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Expertise in problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
