About the position

The VP, Assistant Director of IT Operations will work closely with various departments and teams to ensure that the IT infrastructure, applications, and processes are aligned with the evolving needs of the business. This role is pivotal in overseeing the IT Operations area, which includes managing multiple Data Centers, IT Disaster Recovery, Incident Management, Job Scheduling, File Transfers, and compiling IT Operational Metrics, among other operational responsibilities. The Assistant Director will be responsible for fostering a high-performance culture within their areas of responsibility, focusing on recruiting and retaining high-performing individuals. They will exercise full managerial authority concerning hiring, performance management, reviews, promotions, salary recommendations, and terminations. In collaboration with other managers, the Assistant Director will drive the successful execution of operations, which includes daily reviews and prioritization of activities based on current situations and requirements, as well as quality control and assurance activities. They will lead IT initiatives for customers and work with senior IT management to develop and implement technology processes and procedures that provide “best in class” services for the organization, ensuring that production operations meet service level agreements. The role also involves managing vendor resources, providing oversight and relationship management to ensure that commitments to customers or peers are met. The Assistant Director will establish value-add resource models and work towards efficient growth capacity in a cost-effective manner. They will implement financial controls for their areas of responsibility and monitor compliance to ensure that IT services are delivered in the most cost-effective manner possible. Additionally, they will diagnose and resolve availability, performance, and information assurance issues in a dynamic, always-on, mission-critical environment, while monitoring system performance to ensure availability and reliability. The Assistant Director will contribute to the preparation of technology status reviews and other formal reviews for senior and executive management, oversee incident and event management to ensure resolution times meet SLA requirements, and lead daily operations to ensure production schedules are met.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a similar discipline.
  • 12-15 years of experience in IT operations or a related field.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
  • Excellent leadership abilities and experience working with a diverse multicultural team.

  • Ability to inform, educate, and influence employees to support corporate goals and objectives.
  • Ability to cultivate and foster relationships with staff and clients.
