About the position

The Assistant Director of Information Technology at Fair Haven Community Health Clinic will support the Director by managing operational tasks within the IT department. This role involves overseeing network infrastructure, cybersecurity measures, and providing training and direction to IT staff. The Assistant Director will also act as the Director in their absence, making independent decisions to enhance the clinic's IT systems and services.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and act on opportunities to upgrade and improve software and systems.
  • Manage and maintain network equipment and infrastructure.
  • Oversee all cybersecurity measures, including running risk assessments and designing firewalls.
  • Generate reports on clinical metrics for various health providers.
  • Run operational reports for senior staff and provide training to IT staff.
  • Support Cisco telephony technology and act as a subject matter expert.
  • Design training programs and workshops for staff.
  • Oversee daily operations of the helpdesk and delegate tasks to IT technicians.
  • Handle high-level tickets and manage IT staff.
  • Assist with the development, planning, and deployment of major projects.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of the IT budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent (A+, Net+, Security+, MCP certifications).
  • At least five years of increasingly responsible job experience, preferably in the health field.
  • Oral and written proficiency in English.
  • Expertise in PC hardware and related concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft client operating systems (Windows 7, 8, 10).
  • Familiarity with email concepts and client software, including Microsoft Outlook and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of file sharing, printing, workgroup vs. domain-based networks, and backup software.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, and networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with routers, switches, and cabling in small and mid-size business environments.
  • Experience combating malware issues and familiarity with mobile devices (iOS and Android).
  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the health field is highly desirable.
