About the position
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of Nursing in managing the Nursing Service Department. This position involves planning, organizing, and directing daily nursing functions to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and the highest quality of care for residents. The ADON collaborates with the Director of Nursing, Administrator, and Medical Director to maintain standards of practice and oversee the nursing staff's performance.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing in managing the Nursing Service Department.
- Plan and organize day-to-day nursing functions in accordance with regulations.
- Ensure quality of care is maintained for each resident.
- Follow health, sanitary, and infection control policies.
- Maintain established standards of practice set forth by the facility's administration.
Requirements
- Must possess a current, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice.
- Minimum two years of supervisory experience in a healthcare facility, preferably in long-term care.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
