About the position
The Assistant Director of Nursing plays a crucial role in overseeing nursing staff and ensuring high-quality resident care in a healthcare facility. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks in a stressful environment, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with nursing home regulations.
Responsibilities
- Augment floor staffing if needed.
- Participate in MDS, care planning, and Performance Improvement and Infection Control as required.
- Manage nursing staff through hiring, training, evaluation, assignment, and delegation of duties within budget and resident census guidelines.
- Review and ensure proper resident charting and procedure documentation.
- Develop and implement resident care plans in coordination with physicians, medical directors, nursing staff, and outside consultants.
- Ensure appropriate equipment, supplies, and resources are available to staff in a timely manner.
- Complete necessary assessments and maintain knowledge of infection control procedures.
Requirements
- Licensed Nurse in good standing with State Nursing Board.
- Significant technical experience and demonstrated leadership/management skills.
- Geriatric nursing background.
- Restorative care philosophy and excellent professional skills, including assessment and hands-on care.
- Good communication and organization skills.
- Working knowledge of nursing home regulations.
