About the position

The Assistant Director of Nursing plays a crucial role in overseeing nursing staff and ensuring high-quality resident care in a healthcare facility. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks in a stressful environment, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with nursing home regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Augment floor staffing if needed.
  • Participate in MDS, care planning, and Performance Improvement and Infection Control as required.
  • Manage nursing staff through hiring, training, evaluation, assignment, and delegation of duties within budget and resident census guidelines.
  • Review and ensure proper resident charting and procedure documentation.
  • Develop and implement resident care plans in coordination with physicians, medical directors, nursing staff, and outside consultants.
  • Ensure appropriate equipment, supplies, and resources are available to staff in a timely manner.
  • Complete necessary assessments and maintain knowledge of infection control procedures.

Requirements

  • Licensed Nurse in good standing with State Nursing Board.
  • Significant technical experience and demonstrated leadership/management skills.
  • Geriatric nursing background.
  • Restorative care philosophy with excellent professional skills in assessment and hands-on care.
  • Good communication and organization skills.
  • Working knowledge of nursing home regulations.
