About the position

Cedarhurst of Godfrey is seeking a dedicated and service-minded individual to join their team as a full-time Assistant Director of Nursing. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of quality nursing care in compliance with regulations while leading the nursing staff. The Assistant Director of Nursing will work closely with the Director of Nursing and other community leaders to enhance the well-being of residents and support their journey towards independence.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in defining and maintaining nursing practice standards.
• Oversee the provision of medications, treatments, and nursing services according to care plans.
• Develop and maintain in-service education programs for nursing staff.
• Conduct daily rounds to monitor nursing care delivery.
• Participate in management team planning and policy formation.
• Assume responsibilities of the Director of Nursing in their absence.
• Provide nursing coverage and assistance as needed.
• Assess residents for appropriate levels of care.
• Manage and coordinate nursing and care staff work, ensuring effective communication regarding resident health and safety.

Requirements

• Current state license for LPN or RN is required.
• One year of nursing experience in a senior care community with proven leadership skills is required; 3+ years preferred.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school preferred.
• Working knowledge of best practices for person-directed care for seniors, including dementia care preferred.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience in staffing and leading a care team.
• Knowledge of state regulations regarding senior living care.
