About the position

The Assistant Director of Nursing at Jonesboro NRC LLC is responsible for overseeing the quality of nursing care provided to residents, ensuring that all nursing staff are adequately trained and that care plans are effectively implemented. This role involves coordinating total nursing care for residents, which includes verifying staffing levels, assisting in staff development programs, and conducting daily rounds with nursing supervisors. The Assistant Director will also participate in departmental meetings to ensure that resident services are coordinated according to established policies and procedures. In addition to administrative duties, the Assistant Director of Nursing will maintain and evaluate various statistics related to resident care, such as pressure sores and incidents, and will review medical records to ensure compliance with documentation standards. The position requires a hands-on approach, as the Assistant Director may also provide direct nursing care as needed, in accordance with state regulations. The role is pivotal in ensuring that the nursing team adheres to all operating policies, state requirements, and federal regulations, while also fostering a positive and supportive work environment for staff and residents alike.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate total nursing care for residents and ensure quality nursing care is provided.
  • Verify that a sufficient number of qualified nursing personnel are assigned for each unit/shift.
  • Assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning staff development programs.
  • Conduct daily focused rounds with supervisors and charge nurses.
  • Participate in departmental meetings to coordinate resident services according to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and evaluate statistics for pressure sores, accidents, incidents, and infections.
  • Review closed charts of expired residents for appropriate documentation.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of Care Plans to ensure they are updated and interdisciplinary.
  • Check documentation for residents on the 24-Hour Report and skilled documentation for Medicare services.
  • Review accidents and incidents to develop plans for prevention of future occurrences.
  • Advise the Executive Director on nursing requirements based on medical record documentation.

Requirements

  • Current, valid license as a registered or licensed professional nurse in good standing.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Experience in developing and implementing care plans.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in staff training and development programs.
  • Knowledge of state and federal health care regulations.
