About the position

The Assistant Director of Operations (ADO) at the Mary Amelia Center for Women's Health Equity Research (MAC) plays a pivotal role in the strategic planning and program development efforts of the center. This position involves coordinating and managing various aspects of MAC, which includes overseeing multiple projects and initiatives aimed at advancing women's health equity research. The ADO will be responsible for supervising and managing center staff and student research assistants, ensuring that all research projects and evaluation activities are effectively managed. Additionally, the ADO will oversee outreach and dissemination efforts, ensuring that the center's work reaches the appropriate audiences and stakeholders. In collaboration with MAC leadership, the ADO will help shape program priorities, identify funding opportunities, and produce annual reports that reflect the center's achievements and goals. Building partnerships within and beyond the university is a critical aspect of this role, as the ADO will represent MAC at various events and coordinate activities with external collaborators. The ADO is expected to demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, manage a diverse workforce, set goals, and resolve conflicts to maintain the effectiveness and efficiency of MAC at a high level. The role requires a proactive approach to program management and a commitment to advancing the mission of the center through strategic initiatives and collaborative efforts. The ADO will also participate in select training activities as needed, contributing to the professional development of staff and students involved in the center's research efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage multiple aspects of the Mary Amelia Center for Women's Health Equity Research (MAC).
  • Supervise and manage center staff and student research assistants.
  • Oversee overall management of MAC research projects and evaluation activities.
  • Manage outreach and dissemination efforts for the center's initiatives.
  • Collaborate with MAC leadership to shape program priorities and seek funding opportunities.
  • Produce annual reports reflecting the center's achievements and goals.
  • Build partnerships within and beyond the university, representing MAC at events.
  • Coordinate activities with external collaborators.
  • Participate in select training activities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a public health or social science related field.
  • At least two years of management experience.
  • At least two years of experience managing research and evaluation activities.
  • Extensive experience with research and research project management.
  • Experience working with government and local community organizations.
  • Excellent oral, written, and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong abilities to work effectively with diverse skill sets and personalities.
  • Strong organizational skills and the capacity to coordinate program activities and staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed.

Nice-to-haves
