About the position

The Assistant Director of Operations (ADO) at the Mary Amelia Center for Women's Health Equity Research (MAC) will play a crucial role in strategic planning and program development. This position involves managing multiple projects and initiatives, supervising staff and student research assistants, and overseeing research project management and evaluation activities. The ADO will collaborate closely with MAC leadership to shape program priorities, seek funding opportunities, and represent MAC at various events, ensuring effective outreach and dissemination of research findings.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to strategic planning and program development efforts for MAC.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple projects and initiatives within the center.
  • Supervise and manage center staff and student research assistants.
  • Oversee overall management of MAC research projects and evaluation activities.
  • Participate in outreach and dissemination efforts for research findings.
  • Build partnerships within and beyond the university and represent MAC at events.
  • Coordinate activities with external collaborators and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a public health or social science related field.
  • Extensive experience with research and research project management.
  • Experience working with government and local community organizations.

  • Master's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Outreach and community engagement experience.
  • Experience working in maternal and child, family, or women's health research.
  • Experience interacting with diverse populations in the New Orleans community.
