About the position

The Assistant Director of Operations at Little Successful Angels Daycare and Learning Academy plays a crucial role in the daily management of the childcare facility. This position involves working closely with the Director to ensure operational efficiency, maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children, and implement educational programs effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director in overseeing daily operations of the daycare facility, including staff management, enrollment, and compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor facility maintenance, cleanliness, and safety standards to ensure a secure environment for children and staff.
  • Implement policies and procedures that align with the daycare's mission and educational goals.
  • Support in hiring, training, and supervising teaching staff and other employees.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and professional development sessions.
  • Assist with scheduling and ensuring proper staff-to-child ratios in classrooms.
  • Collaborate with the Director to design and implement age-appropriate educational programs.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the curriculum and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and address concerns or inquiries.
  • Organize parent-teacher conferences and family events to encourage parental involvement.
  • Represent the daycare at community outreach programs and networking events.
  • Assist with budgeting, payroll, billing, and financial planning for the daycare center.
  • Maintain accurate records for children, staff, and the facility in compliance with state regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a management or supervisory role, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of state licensing requirements and early childhood education principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years in a licensed childcare facility.
  • Proficiency in Procare or other daycare management software.
