About the position

The Assistant Director of Student Leadership and Learning at Clark University is a pivotal role within the Student Engagement and Belonging team, focusing on the development and execution of co-curricular programming initiatives that enhance student learning and career readiness. This collaborative position works closely with various university departments to create signature experiences for students, ensuring successful outcomes in student engagement and success.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Coordination of the Co-Curricular Transcript at Clark.
  • Maintain Clark Engage for student-facing campus calendaring and marketing.
  • Develop and enhance student Pathways in Clark Engage, focusing on various developmental areas.
  • Collaborate across departments to cultivate required programming activities.
  • Assess and evaluate co-curricular offerings and prepare reports.
  • Build and maintain a robust programming calendar aligned with University priorities.
  • Support student space reservations through the Event Management System and Clark Engage.
  • Assist groups with the event planning process and provide creative ideas.
  • Coordinate student club and organization space reservation processes.
  • Communicate regarding student club events to campus partners.
  • Leverage the Event Check In App to provide data and coordinate student learning.
  • Provide support to clubs and organizations, including training and resource materials.
  • Engage and advise student organizations regarding event planning and management.
  • Participate in departmental and divisional meetings to support student retention and success.
  • Serve on university task forces and committees as a representative.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule for evening and weekend events.
  • Support key university initiatives and traditional events.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of developing and assessing co-curricular experiences for undergraduate students.
  • Commitment to student development theory and high impact practices.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence in working with diverse college communities.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Awareness of contemporary practices in student activities and learning.
  • Comfort with technology including MS Office and event management systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and support student engagement.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • A master's degree in education, student affairs, or a related field.
  • Two to four years of relevant experience in student affairs or higher education administration.
  • Demonstrated success in a busy office environment.
