About the position

The Assistant Director of Student Leadership and Learning at Clark University is a pivotal role within the Student Engagement and Belonging team, focusing on the development and execution of co-curricular programming initiatives. This position collaborates with various university departments to enhance student learning and career readiness, ensuring successful student outcomes through organized events and programs. The Assistant Director will manage the Clark Engage platform, assess student participation, and support the overall student experience at the university.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination of the Co-Curricular Transcript at Clark.
  • Maintain and enhance Clark Engage for student-facing calendaring and co-curricular transcript hosting.
  • Develop student pathways in Clark Engage, focusing on career development, leadership, and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with various departments to create signature programming activities for the co-curricular transcript.
  • Assess and evaluate co-curricular offerings, preparing reports to ensure inclusion and equity.
  • Build and maintain a programming calendar aligned with university priorities.
  • Support student space reservations and assist with event planning processes.
  • Provide support to student clubs and organizations, including training and resource materials.
  • Engage with student organizations regarding event planning and organization management.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and support student retention and engagement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of developing and assessing co-curricular experiences for undergraduate students.
  • Commitment to student development theory and high impact practices.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence in working with diverse college communities.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Awareness of contemporary practices in student activities and leadership development.
  • Comfort with technology including MS Office, Anthology Engage, and social media.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and support student engagement.

Nice-to-haves

  • A master's degree in education, student affairs, or a related field.
  • Two to four years of relevant experience in student affairs or higher education administration.
  • Creativity and resourcefulness in advancing student success initiatives.
  • Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule for evening or weekend programs.
