About the position

The Assistant Director of Rehab (OTA) at Beaver Dam Health Care Center is responsible for providing treatment and documentation of care for residents with impaired abilities under the supervision of an occupational therapist. This role involves participating in interdisciplinary team meetings and ensuring that residents receive appropriate treatment to maintain or improve their functional abilities in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow physicians' orders for resident care and directions of the occupational therapist.
• Provide appropriate treatment to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of function possible.
• Provide adaptive equipment and preventative measures to prevent decline in residents' function.
• Maintain timely and accurate resident reports as required by regulatory agencies and third-party payers.
• Observe infection control procedures and ensure the safety of residents under supervision.
• Work cooperatively with residents, their representatives, facility staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures, including safety and residents' rights policies.
• Protect the privacy of resident Protected Health Information and maintain confidentiality.
• Present a professional appearance and demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
• Perform other related duties as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common medical information.
• Ability to effectively communicate with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Associates degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
