About the position

The Assistant Director of Rehabilitation (ADOR) at The Pearl at Fort Lauderdale is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the rehabilitation department's operations, ensuring compliance with clinical standards, and enhancing patient care quality. The ADOR will assist in program development, manage departmental finances, contribute to census development and marketing efforts, and support the professional growth of the rehabilitation staff. This position requires a licensed therapist or therapy assistant with strong communication and leadership skills, particularly in geriatric care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) with program development and maintain systems to enhance the facility's reputation for rehabilitation services.
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies, clinical standards, and documentation guidelines, including conducting monthly audits.
  • Implement new patient programs and conduct necessary in-services.
  • Communicate regularly with the administrator and regional support to determine needs and schedule visits effectively.
  • Evaluate and treat patients efficiently and effectively, participating with nursing to meet OBRA requirements.
  • Monitor financial performance of the rehab department and seek methods to improve it, including achieving revenue and productivity goals.
  • Contribute to census development and marketing efforts, managing relationships with key referral sources.
  • Support the professional development of rehabilitation staff through performance appraisals and ongoing training programs.
  • Maintain the facility's reputation as a leading rehab provider by demonstrating core values and superior customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory safety practices and maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Valid FL license in SLP, PTA, or COTA.
  • Experience in long-term care and/or geriatric care is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all rehabilitation and facility staff.
  • Strong patient service skills and commitment to clinical excellence.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with documentation writing.
  • Knowledge of the rehab community.
