The Assistant Director of Research and Pipeline Development at Providence College plays a crucial role in identifying, researching, and analyzing prospects for major and leadership gift cultivation and solicitation. This position is integral to supporting the Advancement team in achieving its fundraising goals by providing essential information, knowledge, coordination, and tools. The Assistant Director will partner with gift officers to inform prospect strategies and assist in moving prospective donors through various stages of the fundraising cycle. In this role, the Assistant Director will employ advanced research data collection and analysis skills to proactively identify and assess the philanthropic giving capacity of prospective donors. This includes accurately analyzing complex financial disclosure documents, real estate, and other wealth indicators to determine accurate capacity ratings. The position also involves providing insights on private company valuations and analyzing hedge funds, venture capital, and private equity to ascertain net worth. The Assistant Director will assist the director in developing plans and strategies for managing and expanding the overall pool of prospects and donors through a variety of proactive prospect identification projects. Collaboration with fundraising teams, particularly in developing the leadership gift program, is essential to ensure that fundraiser portfolios are robust and contain strong, viable prospects supported by a continual flow of newly identified and efficiently rated prospect donors. The role requires maintaining a working knowledge of all functions and systems related to prospect management, including software applications, industry best practices, and department policies, while safeguarding the confidentiality of constituent information.
