About the position

The Assistant Director of Research Compliance at Harvard Business School (HBS) plays a crucial role in supporting research programs and ensuring compliance with regulations. This position is responsible for developing and implementing the Quality Improvement Program (QIP), providing education and support to the HBS research community, and advising on the Institutional Review Board (IRB) process. The Assistant Director collaborates with various stakeholders to establish effective research data management practices and ensure adherence to ethical standards in research.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Quality Improvement Program (QIP) at HBS.
• Create and deliver educational curriculum specific to the HBS research community.
• Provide front-line support and information for researchers and staff.
• Review IRB submissions by HBS faculty for compliance with regulations.
• Draft reports and study management tools related to QIP.
• Support compliance team processes to aid regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to QIP goals through various related duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum of 7 years' relevant work experience.
• Experience with human subject protection and related regulations preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree with 5 or more years of experience or a PhD/JD with at least 3 years of experience.
• Experience using research compliance software (e.g., Huron Compliance Suite).
• Experience in project management software for tracking special projects.
• Experience guiding researchers on data management best practices.
