About the position

The Assistant Director of Resident Services plays a crucial role in enhancing the resident experience at The Glen at Lake Oconee Village, particularly in the Heartful Care program. This position involves accepting management responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Resident Services and assisting in the overall care management of residents. The role emphasizes decision-making, communication, and compliance with healthcare regulations while promoting the organization's core values.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates excellent decision-making skills and understands the impact of those decisions.
  • Sets and manages priorities.
  • Accepts calls from staff during nights and weekends.
  • Conducts meetings/training as required/requested.
  • Communicates in a clear, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Assists in reviewing new associate applications, checks references, and interviews applicants.
  • Monitors associates' work and performance.
  • Coaches/counsels associates respectfully.
  • Completes associate performance evaluations according to established policy.
  • Monitors expenditures weekly to ensure compliance with the department budget.
  • Schedules associates based on budgeted FTEs and prepares assignments for efficiency.
  • Provides hands-on care as needed to meet residents' needs.
  • Assists in evaluating residents to determine their level of care and services.
  • Participates in monthly ECC & LNS meetings with the Director of Resident Services and Corporate Director of Nursing.
  • Ensures medication orders are accurate on the MORS.
  • Reviews and investigates incident reports and recommends actions to the Executive Director.
  • Adheres to ALF regulations pertaining to assisted living healthcare laws.
  • Maintains a safe and secure working environment free of hazards.
  • Practices good body mechanics and safe working habits.
  • Follows established policies and procedures in emergency situations.
  • Is considered essential personnel during emergencies.
  • Wears clean and appropriate dress per established policy.
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations.
  • Takes initiative in work and seeks out additional information.
  • Willingly takes on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Nursing License.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and the public.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Knowledge of word processing software and electronic medical records.
