About the position
The Assistant Director of Student Services at Devereux Pennsylvania Children's Services (DPACS) is a leadership role focused on overseeing and enhancing educational programs for students with behavioral health and mental health disabilities. This position involves collaboration with multiple teams to ensure a safe and effective learning environment across six school programs, while also providing operational support and compliance with state regulations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe learning environment for all students
- Support daily onsite operations of all DPACS Schools
- Maintain PDE Compliance and support the admissions processes for students
- Assist the Director of Student Services as directed
- Implement educational changes as necessary
- Work effectively with residential leadership to maximize educational opportunities for students
- Make recommendations for meeting and complying with Devereux standards for incident reporting
Requirements
- Master's degree in education or related field required
- Instructional and/or education specialist certification in Pennsylvania required
- Administrative certification in Pennsylvania required (Principal, Supervisor of Special Education, Director of Pupil Personnel, etc.)
- Minimum of three to five years' experience working with students with behavioral health and mental health disabilities
- Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications
- Experience with data collection/analyzing platforms (Radar, Pro-Filer, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Valid driver's license must be maintained
Nice-to-haves
- Prior school-based administrative experience preferred
