About the position

The Assistant Director of Student Services at Devereux Pennsylvania Children's Services (DPACS) plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of multiple school programs for children and adolescents with disabilities. This leadership position involves ensuring compliance with state regulations, supporting educational initiatives, and fostering a safe and healthy learning environment. The role requires collaboration with various teams to implement best practices and enhance educational services across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe learning environment for all students
  • Support daily onsite operations of all DPACS Schools
  • Maintain PDE Compliance and support the admissions processes for students
  • Assist the Director of Student Services as directed
  • Implement educational changes as necessary
  • Work effectively with residential leadership to maximize educational opportunities for students
  • Make recommendations for meeting and complying with Devereux standards for incident reporting

Requirements

  • Master's degree in education or related field required
  • Instructional and/or education specialist certification in Pennsylvania required
  • Administrative certification in Pennsylvania required (Principal, Supervisor of Special Education, Director of Pupil Personnel, etc.)
  • Minimum of three to five years' experience working with students with behavioral health and mental health disabilities
  • Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience with data collection/analyzing platforms (Radar, Pro-Filer, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Valid driver's license must be maintained

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior school-based administrative experience preferred
