About the position

The Assistant Director of Technology at St. Joseph's Academy plays a crucial role in supporting the school's mission by providing technical assistance to students, faculty, and staff. This position involves managing the school's technology infrastructure, including hardware repairs, network maintenance, and software support, ensuring that all technological resources are effectively utilized in the educational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administers systems and servers related to LAN and WAN to ensure availability of services to authorized users.
  • Assesses incidents, complaints, and/or accidents to resolve or recommend resolutions.
  • Assists in the design of computer networks to ensure effective and efficient operating systems.
  • Installs network software on various platforms for upgrading and maintaining WAN/LAN and telecommunication systems.
  • Maintains network operations and software applications to ensure efficient operations.
  • Manages assigned projects and program components, including television, intercom, and wireless services.
  • Participates in planning and development activities for creating short and long-range plans.
  • Performs personnel administrative functions to maintain adequate staffing and enhance productivity.
  • Prepares written materials for documenting activities and conveying information.
  • Recommends equipment, supplies, and materials for acquiring required items efficiently.
  • Recommends policies and procedures for meeting the academy's goals and objectives.
  • Researches trends and products to recommend procedures and/or purchases.
  • Responds to inquiries from various sources to provide technical assistance and support.
  • Trains faculty and staff to ensure their ability to use new and existing operating systems and application software.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions of network hardware and software applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience in management (1 year preferred).
  • Proficiency in FTP Management Software troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of LAN and WAN systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management processes and methodology.
  • Familiarity with current, legacy, and emerging operating systems.
