About the position

The Assistant Director of Revenue Cycle - Tampa General Provider Network (TGPN) plays a crucial role in overseeing and directing the practice revenue cycles within TGPN. This position reports directly to the Associate Vice President of Oncology and is responsible for managing various aspects of the revenue cycle, including billing, collections, coding, and reimbursement processes. The Assistant Director will be instrumental in providing financial analysis and reporting on revenue trends, identifying areas of revenue leakage, and developing strategies to enhance revenue generation. This role requires a deep understanding of multispecialty practice billing and collection operations, particularly in an academic healthcare setting, to ensure compliance and optimize revenue streams. In addition to overseeing the revenue cycle operations, the Assistant Director will serve as the primary point of contact between TGPN and the facility for account-specific billing issues. This includes providing operational guidance regarding revenue cycle policies and procedures, addressing systemic root causes of recurring problems, and functioning as the next level of issue escalation for revenue cycle staff. The ability to present findings and strategies to various levels of leadership and staff is essential, as is the knowledge of HCFA 1500 claim forms and coding terminology. The position is hybrid remote, allowing for flexibility in work location while maintaining a strong presence in the West Palm Beach area.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct practice revenue cycles within TGPN, including billing, collections, coding, and reimbursement processes.
  • Provide financial analysis and report on revenue trends.
  • Identify revenue leakage and develop strategies for revenue enhancement.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between TGPN and facility for account-specific billing issues.
  • Provide operational guidance regarding revenue cycle policies and procedures.
  • Identify system and operational issues and address them with TGPN leaders.
  • Function as the next level of issue escalation for revenue cycle staff.
  • Present findings and strategies to varying levels of leadership and staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a hospital business office environment performing billing and/or follow-up functions.
  • Strong knowledge of multispecialty practice billing and collection operations in an academic setting.
  • Ability to conduct high-level problem solving with a focus on compliance and revenue optimization.
  • Ability to address systemic root causes of chronically recurring problems.
  • Ability to provide operational guidance regarding revenue cycle policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of HCFA 1500 claim forms and diagnosis and procedure coding terminology.
