About the position

The Assistant Director, Strategic Philanthropic Partnerships plays a crucial role in the Division of Philanthropy at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This position focuses on building and managing strategic relationships with key philanthropic partners, particularly the Pan-Mass Challenge, to enhance the effectiveness of these partnerships and support the Institute's goals. The role involves collaboration across various teams, overseeing budgets, and developing proposals and reports to ensure successful partnerships and fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the ongoing relationship with the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) and its fundraisers.
  • Coordinate Dana-Farber marketing and PR resources for PMC.
  • Create and implement a team visit program and manage designated fund allocations from the PMC.
  • Work closely with PMC fundraisers and DFCI investigators to streamline information sharing.
  • Manage the PMC budget and interface with the Chief Financial Officer, PMC.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues across business units to identify partnership opportunities.
  • Research new opportunities for partnerships and benchmark with peers.
  • Support the Senior Director in developing proposals, presentations, and reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong project management and budgeting skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and respond effectively to changing situations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in fundraising or philanthropy-related roles.
