About the position

The University of Arizona Athletics Department is seeking an Assistant Director of Ticket Sales who will play a crucial role in enhancing the ticket sales strategy and outreach efforts for various sports programs, including volleyball, women's basketball, and softball. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, as well as travel for competitions and recruiting activities. The Assistant Director will be responsible for making connections with donors and season ticket holders through various communication channels, including phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings. The role also involves planning outreach strategies to meet sales goals and generating leads on game days to increase database and sales revenue. In addition to direct sales responsibilities, the Assistant Director will manage student intern projects and call volumes, ensuring that outreach efforts are effective and aligned with departmental goals. Collaboration with ticket operations, marketing, and development teams will be essential to create revenue generation opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a positive demeanor, and the ability to maintain professional relationships at all organizational levels. Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules is critical, as is the ability to problem-solve and make decisions in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities

  • Make diverse connections with donors, season ticket holders, and leads through phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings.
  • Meet the minimum outreach number of 60 contacts per day.
  • Plan outreach and strategy for group initiatives for assigned sports (volleyball, women's basketball, and softball).
  • Work game days to generate leads to grow the database and sales revenue.
  • Manage student intern projects and call volumes.
  • Attend meetings to collaborate with ticket operations, marketing, and development to create revenue generation opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of direct sales experience (sports sales).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work extended hours including nights and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in college athletics or a sports marketing organization.
  • Master's Degree in Sports Administration or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Paciolan and Salesforce CRM programs.
  • Experience in department-related NCAA and Pac-12 rules and compliance.
