About the position

The Assistant Director, Undergraduate Research Programs at Brown University plays a crucial role in enhancing undergraduate student engagement in research and scholarly activities. This position focuses on supporting the Presidential Scholars Program and fostering a community where students can thrive academically and socially. The Assistant Director will collaborate with program leadership, staff, and student scholars to ensure the program's success and oversee various advising and educational initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement advising and educational programming for current Presidential Scholars throughout the academic year.
  • Support admissions and recruitment efforts for future scholar cohorts.
  • Facilitate student learning and self-exploration through programming and advising initiatives.
  • Collaborate with faculty for mentorship opportunities.
  • Contribute to the administrative life of the College as an exploratory academic advisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in college or university-level academic settings, such as academic advising, career counseling, or teaching.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with the practice, administration, and/or mentorship of undergraduate research.
