The Assistant Director of Workforce Development at the 1199SEIU Training and Employment Funds (TEF) plays a crucial role in enhancing the skills and educational opportunities for unionized healthcare workers. This position is responsible for directing all aspects of training and education that align with the priorities of both the healthcare union and employers. The TEF is dedicated to providing comprehensive training, education, and career pathways to its members, which includes over 400,000 individuals and their families. As part of a labor-management partnership, the Assistant Director will develop and implement innovative training and occupational skills programs tailored to the needs of healthcare workers across various sectors, including acute and long-term care. In this role, the Assistant Director will collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand the unique educational needs of different healthcare sectors and design effective educational solutions. This includes engaging with external stakeholders such as education vendors, employer and union partners, and workforce entities to ensure that the training programs are relevant and impactful. The position also involves overseeing curriculum development for various training programs, cataloging and streamlining curricula, and creating an eCurriculum library to enhance accessibility and efficiency in training delivery. The Assistant Director will foster a culture of continuous improvement, conducting evaluations of existing education programs and making necessary adjustments in collaboration with other TEF departments. This role includes monitoring and evaluating education programs, teachers, facilitators, and vendors to ensure high-quality service delivery. Additionally, the Assistant Director will supervise program managers and staff, manage budgets, and engage stakeholders to maintain the quality of educational services. The position requires participation in leadership activities with other Assistant Directors and involvement in cross-TEF committees and work groups, as well as performing additional duties as assigned by management.
