About the position

The Assistant Distribution Center Inventory Manager at McKesson is responsible for managing inventory assets within the Distribution Center, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), and overseeing inventory reconciliation processes. This role involves collaboration with various departments to optimize inventory accuracy and efficiency, as well as serving as a liaison to the National Buying Center. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage financial impacts related to inventory adjustments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Distribution Center inventory assets including reconciliation of Acumax and SAP inventory.
  • Ensure receiving, put-away, and reclamation functions are executed accurately and efficiently.
  • Oversee daily reconciliation and inventory adjustment requirements.
  • Manage the cycle count process and audit reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) regulations and internal/external audits.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Planning departments to enhance warehouse automation accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead redesign efforts.
  • Serve as a liaison between DC inventory operations and the National Buying Center.
  • Develop strong relationships with local and national customer service departments.
  • Provide process analysis using inventory analytic tools to monitor trends.

Requirements

  • Typically requires 3+ years of subject matter experience with leadership capabilities.
  • 4-year degree preferred.
  • Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).
  • Experience with AS400 and SAP preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory processes and operations management.

  • Six Sigma experience preferred.
