About the position
The Assistant Early Childhood Educator plays a crucial role in supporting the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This position involves managing daily classroom operations, assisting in curriculum development, and fostering effective communication with parents and children to address their needs and concerns.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for children.
- Help coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
- Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to engage children and promote their social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
- Maintain frequent communication with parents through informal and formal discussions, reports, and conferences.
- Ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations.
- Maintain a healthy classroom environment, including hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Keep accurate records, forms, and files related to classroom activities.
- Develop and maintain a personal professional development plan for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Pre-Service Training in CPR and First Aid.
- High School diploma or GED.
