About the position

The Assistant Editor role at Amazon Career Choice is essential for ensuring that all content related to employee career advancement is clear, accurate, and consistent. This position involves editing and publishing content across various platforms, including the ERC Knowledge Base and Inside Amazon, while also facilitating translations and collaborating with multiple teams to support the Career Choice program. The role is critical for minimizing confusion among Associates and ensuring successful product launches.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating translation process and translation reviews and localization.
  • Own day-to-day content publishing in all required environments in all Career Choice supported languages.
  • Own the product intake process and queue for product-related content requests, auditing and continually improving the process.
  • Partner with various functional groups within Career Choice, creating and editing content as necessary.
  • Coordinate with the AET Global Content team to ensure sufficient centralized support for translation.
  • Drive org-wide transparency by providing critical communication and clear status of the initiatives you own.
  • Identify, track, resolve and mitigate risks to ensure successful delivery.

Requirements

  • Professional writing experience.
  • Writing and editing skills.
  • Written and spoken English language proficiency.
  • Written and spoken proficiency in two or more of the following languages: French, Canadian French, Italian, Spanish, German, Polish, Slovak, and Czech.
  • Bachelor's degree or advanced studies in Foreign language major, Journalism, Professional Writing, Technical Writing, Communications, or similar field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven knowledge working within Content Management Systems.
  • Strong editorial background and skill in proofreading and creating, implementing, and ensuring adherence to style guides.

  • Work experience in a global team environment.
  • Experience in a multi-language publishing environment, including globalization for translation, terminology databases and management, and other world-ready approaches.
  • Proven ability to work independently or in ambiguous circumstances.
  • Good judgment and open communication.
