The Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey (JFSNJ) is seeking a creative and eager Assistant Editor for the Jewish Community Voice. This full-time position, requiring 35 hours per week, is ideal for individuals who are passionate about storytelling and have a strong organizational mindset. The Assistant Editor will play a crucial role in guiding various departments and agencies towards achieving the organization's goals while working towards the vision for the community's publications. This role is exempt and may require attendance at meetings and coverage of events during evenings and weekends, reflecting the dynamic nature of the position. As the Assistant Editor, you will be responsible for ensuring that all content meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and ethical journalism practices. You will collaborate closely with the editor, advertising and production teams, as well as community members and volunteer leaders. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing skills, a meticulous eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize tasks effectively, and adapt to changing priorities as needed. In addition to editing and writing articles, you will also be tasked with covering community events, preparing feature stories, and editing press releases. You will monitor and curate content for the Voice's website and social media platforms, working alongside the JFed marketing team to enhance the community's online presence.
