About the position

The Assistant Engineer (Civil) position at Genesee 1 Letchworth State Park involves providing engineering services including consultation, evaluation, planning, systems design, and project oversight to ensure compliance with accepted engineering standards. The role may also include supervising and evaluating the work of technicians on various engineering projects, particularly in the construction and maintenance of infrastructure such as roads, buildings, and water systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering services including consultation, evaluation, planning, and systems design.
• Conduct engineering surveys and project oversight to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
• Supervise and evaluate the work of technicians in engineering projects.
• Oversee the construction, extension, alteration, remodeling, and maintenance of roads and buildings.
• Monitor public health regulations and water systems, including electrical and power supply systems.
• Manage large structures including major roads, environmental remediation systems, and bridges.

Requirements

• Proof of passing the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (FE) AND a qualifying bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proof of passing the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (FE) AND one year of full-time qualifying engineering experience in relevant fields.
• A valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State.
