About the position

The Assistant Environmental Engineer will support project teams in creating high-quality designs for various projects, including high-voltage transmission lines, power generation, and water treatment facilities. This role involves assisting throughout the design and construction phases, adapting environmental plans to meet budget constraints and client needs, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project teams in the environmental design of projects from conceptual phase to completion.
  • Modify and review production drawings for various facilities including power plants and healthcare institutions.
  • Design environmental components based on project requirements set by project managers.
  • Conduct research and compile project-related data as required by project managers.
  • Correct and update drawings provided by senior engineers using CAD software.
  • Assist in client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration.
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for clients.
  • Comply with all company policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.
  • Basic knowledge of environmental and civil engineering techniques, principles, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills including AutoCAD and BIM (Revit).
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior internship and/or related consulting experience.
  • Engineers in Training (EIT) Certification preferred.
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
