About the position

The Assistant Event Manager at Night Garden is responsible for overseeing event staff and ensuring a high-quality guest experience during the holiday event at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. This role involves managing staff, addressing guest inquiries, and maintaining safety and operational standards throughout the event.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee staff at Usher locations or entrance Box office.
  • Lead and supervise staff in the area, coaching them to increase efficiency and provide top-notch guest service.
  • Manage relationships with various vendors of the show.
  • Be the first line to deal with any guest complaints and help document any incidents or safety situations.
  • Answer questions from visitors and provide assistance as needed.
  • Assist visitors with wayfinding and provide information about the event.
  • Monitor installations to ensure they are functioning properly and identify potential safety issues.
  • Communicate with the Director of Operations in the event of an emergency or safety/security-related incident.
  • Prevent vandalism or trespassing by monitoring visitor behavior.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Previous experience in customer service, entertainment, events, or hospitality is required.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to stand or walk around for 5-6 hour shifts.
  • Reliable commute to Fairchild Gardens is required.
  • Ability to work 30-40 hours per week including weekends, evenings, and holidays is required.
