About the position

We are looking for the very best to join our AAA 4-Diamond Hotel, featured in the Top 10 of all Meeting Hotels in the United States per Cvent. The Assistant Event Services Manager will be responsible for managing banquet events and convention set-up at the hotel. This person supervises event room set-ups, service, and maintenance of all banquet functions and banquet equipment. This role is a highly detailed role within the hotel to complete event requirements and create an appealing experience for guests. The salary range for this position is $70,600-$106,000. This is the pay range for this position that Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education. Responsibilities

  • Manage banquet events and convention set-up at the hotel.
  • Supervise event room set-ups, service, and maintenance of all banquet functions and equipment.
  • Ensure all event requirements are completed to create an appealing experience for guests.

Requirements

  • Full Time Management Position that requires full flexibility, including the ability to work weekends and holidays and a varied schedule.
  • A true desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in general computer knowledge.
  • Extremely creative, innovative, detail-oriented, and organized.
  • Hotel experience and a thorough understanding of all levels of banquet service.
  • Previous experience as an Event Services Manager/Assistant, Event Services Captain, or Event Services Supervisor preferred.
  • Possess high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leadership, effective communication, strong development and training skills, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
