About the position

The Director of Hospitality at Sonata Lake Mary plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the Solvere Managed Community, working closely with the General Manager. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including financial management, business planning, and the development, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of program services. The Director is tasked with ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to residents and their families, while also managing staff effectively. This role requires a strong focus on compliance with local, state, federal, and regulatory standards, ensuring that the community is always prepared for inspections by regulatory agencies. Regular auditing and updating of community policies and procedures, as well as medical records documentation, are essential components of this position. In addition to management and financial responsibilities, the Director of Hospitality is also responsible for resident care. This includes ensuring that residents receive high-quality services that meet their needs and desires, protecting resident rights, and educating staff, residents, and families about these rights. The Director collaborates with the Wellness Director to coordinate the move-in process, ensuring that leases and Resident Service Plans are executed properly. Timely responses to requests from families, residents, and team members are critical, as is maintaining competitive market analysis data to inform decision-making. Sales and marketing are also key aspects of this role. The Director represents the community in public settings and actively promotes the Solvere Managed Community within the local area. This includes generating leads, closing sales, and participating in the Community Marketing Action Plan and Sales Action Plan. The Director is expected to maintain or grow occupancy levels in accordance with budgetary goals and to foster a positive first impression of the community. Weekend coverage as a Manager on Duty is also part of the responsibilities, ensuring that the community operates smoothly at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager in day-to-day operations of the community.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, federal, and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare the community for inspections by regulatory agencies through regular audits.
  • Ensure timely collection of accounts receivables.
  • Optimize opportunities to generate revenue and maintain occupancy levels.
  • Promote staff participation in operations and decision-making.
  • Provide ongoing support and feedback regarding staff performance.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding resident inquiries.
  • Assist in recruitment and maintenance of staff files.
  • Ensure high-quality services for residents and protect resident rights.
  • Coordinate move-in processes with the Wellness Director.
  • Respond to requests from families, residents, and team members promptly.
  • Maintain competitive market analysis and competitor comparative analysis.
  • Ensure positive community presentation and resolve any issues.
  • Collaborate with department heads on sales and marketing efforts.
  • Represent the community in public settings and promote the Solvere Managed Community.
  • Generate leads and assist in closing sales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • State required licensing or certification to manage an assisted living community within 6 months of employment.
  • Excellent customer service and public relations skills.
  • Experience working with seniors in a senior living facility.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated integrity and leadership skills.
  • Passion for working with the senior population.
  • Ability to physically bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 40-50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
