About the position

The Assistant Executive Director at Lyndale Abilene Memory Care is responsible for overseeing operational departments and memory care functions within the community. This role supports the Executive Director and acts in their absence, ensuring quality care and programming for residents while managing various operational aspects of the facility. The position emphasizes building meaningful relationships with residents and their families, contributing to a positive living environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Executive Director and fulfill the role of Executive Director in their absence.
  • Oversee the resident care and programming functions for Memory Care residents.
  • Interact with residents and families to build relationships.
  • Responsible for details of operations including housekeeping, culinary, activities, etc.
  • Assist other members of the management team with budgetary issues.
  • Submit reports as directed to the Executive Director and Home Office staff.
  • Perform administrative functions in support of the Executive Director.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
  • Work with other members of the management team to market and manage the community.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as assigned.
  • On call 24 hours a day for emergency/crisis situations.
  • Work weekends and holiday rotation to assure appropriate coverage.

Requirements

  • 1 or more years' previous management experience in the senior housing industry (AL, MC or LTC).
  • Certified Dementia Practitioner (CALM) preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced computer and Microsoft Office experience with ability to create reports and analyze operational issues.
  • A desire to work with senior adults.
  • Ability to solve complex operational and people problems.
  • Must possess or be willing to acquire a valid driver's license to drive on company time as needed.
  • Must be available after regular working hours and work weekends and holidays as necessary.
