About the position

The Assistant Executive Director will play a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing the services provided to individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ID) and Developmental Disabilities (DD). This position requires a proactive approach to monitoring evolving practices within the ID/DD services sector and providing leadership in implementing necessary programmatic changes. The Assistant Executive Director will be responsible for developing new services or expanding existing ones based on the needs of the community, ensuring that the organization remains responsive and effective in its mission. In addition to program development, the Assistant Executive Director will lead the financial management of the organization. This includes the development and implementation of budgets, as well as monitoring monthly financial performance against the approved annual budget. The role also involves managing local billing practices, expenses, and revenue to ensure the financial health of the organization. Compliance is another critical aspect of this position. The Assistant Executive Director will work closely with senior staff to ensure that all operations comply with regulatory bodies, including licensing, human rights, DMAS, and community services boards. This includes participating in the creation and implementation of corrective action plans that may arise from licensing reviews. Furthermore, the Assistant Executive Director will manage Developmental Services personnel directly or through others. This encompasses hiring, training, development, supervision, evaluation, guidance, discipline, and discharge of staff in accordance with the organization's human resources practices and policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human services, psychology, or social work, along with significant management experience in the ID/DD community.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring evolving practices in ID/DD services and providing leadership in implementing appropriate programmatic changes
  • Providing leadership in developing new services or expanding present services based on community needs
  • Providing leadership in the development and implementation of budget including monitoring monthly financial performance against approved annual budget
  • Management of local billing practices, expenses and revenue
  • Working with senior staff to ensure compliance in all areas with regulatory bodies including licensing, human rights, DMAS and community services boards
  • Participating in the creation and implementation of corrective action plans that result from licensing reviews
  • Managing Developmental Services personnel directly or through others, including hiring, training, development, supervision, evaluation, guidance, discipline, and discharge in keeping with organizations human resources practices and policies

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Psychology or Social Work
  • Minimum of 5 years Senior Level Management experience in the Intellectual Disability (ID)/Developmental Disability (DD) community
  • Valid Driver's License
