About the position

Frontier Senior Living is seeking an outstanding Assistant Executive Director to join Washington Gardens Memory Care Residence community located in Tigard, Oregon. Demonstrated success as a leader in similar settings is required of the Assistant Executive Director. The Assistant Executive Director is responsible for managing under the direction of the Executive Director the day-to-day operations of the community, achieving and maintaining maximum occupancy of the community to capacity, achieving high resident satisfaction and quality resident care/services, ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal requirements, generating respect in the community for the community, ensuring smooth operation of the community, and generating the projected profit for the company.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the community in a manner, which will ensure company profitability by meeting all community budget and census guidelines as set by the corporation.
  • Ensure the delivery of quality customer service and ensure positive resident relations responding promptly and appropriately to resident needs, requests, concerns, etc.
  • Participate in marketing activities.
  • Participate in community relations functions for the community.
  • Propose for approval contracted services.
  • Promote and maintain positive relations with residents and their families.
  • Ensure that resident programs designed to achieve resident satisfaction are available.
  • Comply with all state and federal laws and regulations and all company rules and regulations regarding the care of the residents and operation of the community.
  • Develop and maintain systems that will effectively monitor the operation of the community.
  • Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of appropriate records (i.e. Residents, Employees, Clinical, etc.).
  • Conduct daily department leader meetings to focus on admissions, discharges, resident/family concerns, resident satisfaction, employee injuries, and resident accident/incidents.
  • Conduct weekly marketing meetings to focus on move-ins and move-outs, community events, and marketing events.
  • Direct and monitor timely and accurate completion of all daily/weekly/monthly billings, accounting and bookkeeping requirements.
  • Assist as needed in the coordination of move-in with respective residents.
  • Periodically and routinely review (90-day and annually) and evaluate department leader performance, schedule training and adjust as necessary.
  • Cooperate and effectively interact with the Resident Council.
  • Routinely monitor the sanitation of the kitchen, quality of meals, quantity and appearance of service and entire staff, cleanliness of resident apartment and satisfaction of residents.
  • Access, retrieve and review email messages daily (twice daily minimum).
  • Implement a quality assurance program that evaluates each department's performance at least quarterly.
  • Make recommendations and following through with approved purchases that will protect the physical asset of the property.
  • Implement follow through of recommendations of the safety committee to provide a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Perform any additional job duties set by the Executive Director.

Requirements

  • Must have appropriate administrator license and license must be in good standing (i.e. Assisted Living, Memory Care, etc.).
  • Must be able to relate to the elderly in a positive manner.
  • Must possess good marketing and public relations skills.
  • Must understand budgeting, financial record keeping and reporting, appropriate State and Federal regulations, operational systems and procedures.
  • A minimum of three (3) years prior experience in a management position operating a retirement, assisted living or skilled nursing community, or related business.
  • High School diploma, higher education, and accompanied by specific training and/or certification in management activities. Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and develop people.
  • Must possess a current state-specific driver's license and appropriate driving record.
  • Must be fidelity bondable.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written; English language skills adequate to allow communication with residents and staff, and to understand written and verbal instructions.
