About the position

The Assistant Executive Director is responsible for providing high-quality, person-centered care for residents with Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia. This role ensures compliance with company policies and state regulations while promoting the well-being of residents. The Assistant Executive Director reports directly to the Executive Director and plays a key role in administrative management, program implementation, family support, and personnel management.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold operational policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with current state CBRF and state regulations.
  • Maintain standards and comply with state regulations and licensing.
  • Produce reports as requested and manage daily household staff duties.
  • Implement the MOSAIC quality of life program to enhance residents' well-being.
  • Mentor and empower staff to practice the MOSAIC program consistently.
  • Work with regional nurse and DON to meet residents' medical needs.
  • Complete behavior calls with the nurse/compliance team.
  • Ensure a daily activity program meets individual resident needs.
  • Oversee meal service delivery to meet individual resident needs.
  • Perform on-call and staff fill-in responsibilities.
  • Conduct assessments of potential residents and manage admissions and discharges.
  • Complete individual care plans with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Monitor health and emotional conditions of residents and ensure safe medication administration.
  • Assist families in understanding aging and dementia-related issues.
  • Lead by example and promote teamwork among staff.
  • Maintain staffing models and schedules, and assist in hiring processes.
  • Promote the residence in the community and conduct events to showcase programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or associate degree preferred or a minimum of 2 years of related work experience in assisted living or long-term care.
  • Demonstrated understanding of older adults and related issues.
  • One year of experience in a management position preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer skills including time and attendance, Microsoft Word, and email.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.
