About the position

As the Assistant Executive Director at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing programs that serve children and adults with developmental disabilities. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of those in need. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring that the services provided meet the Devereux 'Family Standard' and comply with all necessary state regulations and professional accreditation requirements. In this role, you will assist in the operation, administration, and monitoring of all programs and facilities, ensuring effective inter-departmental and statewide program functioning. You will be responsible for developing policies and operating procedures that align with organizational goals, subject to the approval of the Executive Director and Operations team. Additionally, you will represent Devereux New York programs to ensure compliance with state agency regulations and maintain the necessary licenses for operation. The Assistant Executive Director will also play a key role in the financial management of the organization, assisting in the preparation and development of operational and capital budgets, including a detailed breakdown of expenses. You will administer the budget as approved by the Executive Director, ensuring that financial resources are allocated effectively to support the mission of Devereux. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operation, administration, and monitoring of all programs and facilities.
  • Develop policies and operating procedures in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Represent Devereux New York programs to ensure compliance with state agency regulations and professional accreditation requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation and development of operational and capital budgets.
  • Administer the budget as approved by the Executive Director.
  • Ensure that Devereux's organizational initiatives and standards are met with fidelity.
  • Assume responsibility for Devereux New York Operations in the absence of the Executive Director.

Requirements

  • M.A., M.S., M.B.A. in Administration, Psychology, Counseling, Special Education or related field preferred.
  • B.A. or B.S. degree required.
  • At least five years experience in a supervisory position within a Health Care setting serving an IDD population.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and flexible manner.
  • Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical or controlled substances.
