About the position

The Assistant Facility Manager at Pattern Energy Group Inc. plays a crucial role in leading and developing teams to fulfill the obligations required for power generation at the operating site. This position is designed to support the Facility Manager in all aspects of site operations, ensuring a positive working environment that fosters discipline, morale, and strong employee relations. The Assistant Facility Manager will be responsible for overseeing maintenance documentation, reporting tools, and performance systems that are essential for effective reporting and performance improvement. In addition to administrative responsibilities, the role requires providing hands-on technical support and supervision for generation equipment and power delivery systems. The Assistant Facility Manager will also be involved in facility civil work, building maintenance, and upkeep, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. A significant aspect of this position is to promote a culture of safety within the workplace. This includes enabling team members to work safely, recognizing hazards, conducting risk assessments, and encouraging peer-to-peer feedback to foster safe work habits. The Assistant Facility Manager will also manage site-specific and corporate procedures, policies, training programs, and safety programs, ensuring that all practices are updated as required. Balancing facility public relations and community interactions is another key responsibility, as is maintaining regulatory compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and associated permits. The Assistant Facility Manager will ensure that all obligations are met using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Responsibilities

  • Support the Facility Manager in all areas of the Pattern operating site.
  • Ensure a positive working environment by maintaining discipline, morale, and employee relations.
  • Lead the use of maintenance documentation, reporting tools, and performance systems necessary for reporting and performance improvement.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and supervision for generation equipment and power delivery systems, as well as with other facility civil work, building maintenance, and upkeep.
  • Enable teammates' ability and awareness to work safely and stop work as required.
  • Support driving the injury-free workplace culture by facilitating safe work habits, hazard recognition, risk assessment, peer-to-peer feedback, and proper use of human performance tools.
  • Manage site-specific and corporate procedures, policies, training programs, safety programs, and work practices and related updates as required.
  • Balance and support facility public relations and community interactions.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with all Federal, state, and local regulations and associated permits. Ensure obligations are met using the CMMS.

Requirements

  • Experience in facility management or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Technical knowledge of power generation equipment and power delivery systems.
  • Ability to maintain a positive working environment and employee relations.
  • Knowledge of safety programs and practices in the workplace.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and maintenance management systems.
