About the position

The Assistant Facility Manager supports the facilities organization at a specific location, ensuring the day-to-day operations of the facility are managed effectively. This role emphasizes a positive response to tenant needs, environmental health and safety, and quality programs, all in alignment with the client's goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility(s) or campus are implemented and carried out in accordance with C&W policies and client directives.
  • Review contracts regularly and ensure invoices match contract pricing.
  • Supervise maintenance programs for the properties' interior and exterior conditions.
  • Respond promptly to requests for building maintenance, repairs, and cleaning needs from building occupants.
  • Compile necessary site-specific documentation and reports accurately and on time.
  • Prepare budgets, financial reports, contracts, expenditures, and purchase orders related to the facility(s).
  • Assist in developing capital budgets for the facility, including maintenance and improvement plans.
  • Collect, analyze, and prepare reports of statistical data for facility management objectives.
  • Monitor compliance of tenants and vendors with insurance requirements and coordinate claims as needed.
  • Proactively inspect the facility and report findings to the Facility Manager.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in facilities management, building, business or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience in commercial or industrial real estate with facility management experience required.
  • Experience in maintenance, construction, engineering, and property operation preferred.
  • CMMS/Work Order Management experience is preferred.
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or other industry certifications recommended.
  • Ability to read and understand construction specifications and blueprints.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and financial systems (Yardi a plus).
  • Strong financial management skills including budgeting and forecasting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in commercial or industrial real estate facility management.
  • Other engineering, business, or technical training or certifications.
