About the position
The Assistant Farm Operations Manager at United Ag LLC is responsible for supporting the Dairy Operations Manager in overseeing the daily activities of a commercial dairy operation. This role involves managing various aspects of farm operations, including feed management, animal health, and staff management, to ensure efficient and effective farm practices.
Responsibilities
- Assist in directing and overseeing daily operations activities for the commercial dairy operation.
- Manage feed and silage management and harvest processes.
- Oversee animal health and reproduction, including maternity and youngstock departments.
- Establish and implement farm protocols to enhance operational efficiency.
- Create employee schedules to ensure adequate staffing.
- Hire, train, motivate, and discipline farm staff as necessary.
- Collect and analyze daily and monthly data to evaluate operational performance.
Requirements
- Two years of livestock farm management experience.
- Experience with herd health and herd management.
- Proficiency in operating and repairing agricultural equipment.
- Experience in managing farm workers.
