The Assistant Fire Protection Engineer will play a crucial role in the design and implementation of fire protection systems across a variety of projects in the oil, gas, and chemical sectors. This position involves assisting in the preparation of comprehensive fire protection packages that include fire suppression, fire alarm, smoke management, and life-safety systems. The engineer will work on multi-discipline projects, collaborating with a diverse portfolio of clients and project types. Key responsibilities include assisting in the design and specification of various fire protection systems such as wet-pipe, dry-pipe, pre-action, deluge, and foam/water fire suppression systems. The role also encompasses the design of fire water supply infrastructure, including storage tanks, fire pumps, and distribution piping. The engineer will be involved in the design of outdoor fire suppression systems and voice evacuation fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. In addition to design responsibilities, the Assistant Fire Protection Engineer will assist in performing fire protection calculations, evaluating building and life safety requirements, and participating in the construction administration process. This includes coordinating with field personnel, reviewing contractor shop drawings, conducting field inspections, and testing fire protection systems. The engineer will also assist in site evaluations and the preparation of project budgets and cost estimates, ensuring adherence to company and site safety policies throughout the project lifecycle.
