About the position

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Goldfish Swim School is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and ensuring the quality and success of the swim school. This role includes managing staff, pool operations, customer service, and various departmental activities, while also providing training and support to ensure high productivity and employee satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and control daily operations to ensure compliance with GSS standard operating procedures.
  • Assist the General Manager and department managers with daily tasks.
  • Manage staff to ensure high productivity and positive employee satisfaction.
  • Train and oversee the aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction.
  • Interact with Deck Supervisors and Golden Teachers regarding class scheduling and student progress.
  • Provide sales and marketing training to qualified sales staff.
  • Direct retail and vending departments to achieve proper product mix and pricing.
  • Train birthday party staff to maintain GSS standard operating procedures.
  • Gain knowledge in Member Management software for bookings and class scheduling.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment through pool operations knowledge.
  • Initiate and oversee workplace employee activities to improve satisfaction.
  • Implement the Emergency Action Plan and train staff on safety procedures.
  • Maintain current certifications and stay updated in aquatics and management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider required.
  • Two or more years as a swimming instructor preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid and Lifeguard certification required.
