About the position

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will oversee the daily operations of a restaurant in Wayland, MA, ensuring exceptional service and a high-quality dining experience. This role involves managing staff, maintaining inventory, and driving sales while fostering a positive work environment. The AGM will work closely with all levels of management and is expected to lead by example, contributing to the growth and development of the restaurant team.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for total daily operation of the restaurant
  • Work together with all levels of management and departments
  • Perform management duties in day-to-day operations and running great shifts
  • Maintain beverage cost
  • Responsible for inventory and ordering
  • Develop restaurant staff to grow in their career
  • Conduct final interviews with hourly candidates
  • Execute food cost management
  • Oversee restaurant opening, hiring, training, and skill reviews
  • Run open, close, and mid shifts
  • Conduct monthly business reviews with ownership and general manager
  • Forecast weekly guest counts and labor costs
  • Compose manager schedules monthly
  • Lead by example showing staff how to conduct themselves properly

Requirements

  • Experience in sales with a track record of managing sales upward of $2 million
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Experience in restaurant management
  • Ability to manage inventory and ordering processes
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
